I am in need of some system to feel productive and full filled

The need

Last year and half is extreamly busy time for me. First start of pregnancy then new job with new responsibilities then arrival of our baby then planning and doing trip back home then apartment shifting. It feels like a never ending story, I explicitly left my side projects and indie hacking life on halt. Which turned out to be a very good decision for this phase.

Recently I have got some headspace and time to be little active on Indie community, which made me realize that lately I have not been doing much on the side. Being with family and baby is the only side thing I have been doing. My job is also very demanding and family needs my time as well.

When I look at these things I have a feeling that there is so much to do and I don’t want to miss on many of the things. Then weeks pass by and I still have a same problem. So today I have this realization of need of some system to do something and also to deal with the emotions about it.

Just not to be hash on myself, there was one thing I am consistent with in last 10months is my dualingo streak for learning German. Yay!

The System

When I am writing this, its really just a surface feeling. I have not done any deep thinking or research to deal with this feeling yet. So for this moment I want to define a working system, the system I want to go with is focus on two things regularly and make some progress. I know I know, it is very generic statement at this point, for every habit it takes a lot of time to actually be developed.

I have been thinking about how to bring accountability into this system, because without accountability its prone to fail(at least from my past experiences).

Accountability

I know with this limited time I have, having accountability in place will help keep me focused. Also, it will keep me motivated. What options do I have for that?

How to make it consistent

Micro Habits

The key to maintaining good habits is to do micro actions whenever you don’t feel like doing the full thing.

Not feeling like going to the gym? Do 10 push-ups. Not feeling like reading a book? Just read one paragraph.

This ensures your cue-response circuits remain strengthened.
